Initially, I didn’t set out to write a book. I set out to understand my own journey—through writing, weaving, sound, movement, and storytelling. Over time, creativity became more than an outlet; it became a lifeline, a way of aligning with something deeper.
Through Flow-Inspired Creations, I discovered that self-expression was about finding meaning and celebrating the beauty of difference.

🌿 Meet Ruth Brunner: A Life in Creative Flow
For over 25 years, I have worked as a counselor, guide, and creative facilitator—helping others navigate self-doubt, reframe limiting narratives, and embrace their own rhythm. But beyond my professional background, my deepest insights come from lived experience—the moments of not fitting in, of searching for meaning, and ultimately, of discovering the freedom of creative self-expression.
I was once told I wouldn’t amount to much. I spent years searching for belonging in places I wasn’t meant to fit. But the moment I stopped trying to fit in and started creating from within—that’s when everything changed.
Flow-Inspired Creations is about aligning with your own flow, your own voice, your own way of thriving. It’s about letting go of expectations and embracing the process of becoming.
Through Uniquely You and Flow-Inspired Creations, my hope is to inspire you to:

The Heart of My Work
For as long as I can remember, creativity has been more than expression—it has been a way of understanding myself and the world. But for many years, I carried labels that didn’t reflect who I truly was. It wasn’t until I let go of those definitions and embraced my own rhythm that I realized: belonging isn’t about fitting in—it’s about coming home to yourself.
This understanding became the foundation of Uniquely You and Flow-Inspired Creations—a practice of aligning with your inner rhythm, creating from a place of curiosity, and reshaping the stories we tell ourselves.
My academic journey took an unconventional path—after completing a Graduate Diploma in Counseling and earning a Master’s in Counselling, I later took a sabbatical from my counseling practice to pursue a BA (Honors). Through my Autoethnographic thesis, I explored identity, creativity, and belonging—not just as personal experiences, but as interconnected with the world around us.
Autoethnography is a qualitative research method that weaves personal storytelling with cultural and social reflection, making meaning of one’s life in the larger context of the world.
For three years after completing my thesis, I carried the urge, intention, and resolve to write a book. The path to bringing it to life wasn’t immediate—it took time, experimentation, and searching for the right approach. But when the process finally aligned in 2024, Uniquely You emerged—woven from lived experience, deep reflection, and the meaning-making lens of Autoethnography.
I’m especially drawn to those who have felt out of step with the world—those who see things differently, think beyond the conventional, and long to express themselves fully. If that resonates with you, know this: your perspective is valuable, your creativity is needed, and your voice matters.

This website is a Flow-Inspired Creation.
I built it as I live — from the inside out, with intention, curiosity, and a focus on process and functionality, not perfection.
In my work, I often speak about the beauty in imperfection — the way cracks become part of the art, not a flaw to be erased. Like Kintsugi, the Japanese practice of mending broken pottery with gold, this site holds its seams with care and story.
If you notice small quirks, uneven buttons, or gentle inconsistencies — consider them part of the creative fingerprint. That said, I welcome your reflections, appreciation, or quiet notes if something isn’t working as it should. This space is still unfolding, and you’re part of its shaping.

The Experience That Found Me
I didn’t set out to create a structure. But as I wrote Uniquely You, something unexpected emerged.
Through Stories in Verse and Flow, I allowed creativity to guide me—poetic reflections spilling into something deeper. Throughout the process of writing Uniquely You, insights surfaced along the way—moments of realization woven into different parts of the book. But as I wrote the verses in Stories in Verse and Flow, those epiphanies resurfaced in a poetic form, crystallizing what had been unfolding throughout the journey. And in those epiphanies, a path revealed itself.
Each shift in perspective became a step forward, and from these shifts, the B.E.C.O.M.E. Experience was born—each letter aligning with one of those key realizations. A journey of creative transformation, not as a rigid method, but as a living invitation—a space to experiment, reflect, and step into the rhythm that is already yours.
This journey continues—not just through the pages of Uniquely You, but through shared creative exploration.
